Marine-3 fatty acids are known as essential because they can be absorbed only through the diet. But research has shown that they have almost disappeared from our present-day western diet.
Marine-3 (oil capsules) is a fish oil with a high concentration of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid, 33%) and DHA (docosahexenoic acid, 22%) omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Natural vitamin E (D-α-tocopherol) is added to this combination of omega-3 fatty acids to prevent oxidation of the oil.
Omega-3 fatty acids have a number of functions in the body: optimisation of LDL cholesterol levels, of the concentration of triglycerides and fibrinogens, as well as of the HDL cholesterol level. In addition, omega-3 fatty acids help to make muscles and joints more supple.
Marine is also an ideal source of omega-3 fatty acids for pregnant women, especially in the first three months, when the nervous system of the foetus is being formed.
Tests show that omega-3 fatty acids from Marine are free from metals and dioxins.
